抗議活動舉行當天，正值科隆市第四屆“中國節”的最後一天。這場為促進德中兩國在經濟、文化等方面的交流而舉辦的“中國節”還沒有完全落下帷幕，多個人權組織代表就發起了聲援香港五大訴求的呼籲，他們認為，日益惡化的中國人權問題，尤其是已持續了三個多月的香港“反送中”運動不容忽視，中共踐踏人權、迫害民主法制的行徑應受到國際社會更多的關注與譴責。
國際特赦科隆發言人塞巴斯蒂安·巴爾奇（Sebastian Bartsch）表示，香港現在的處境已到了白熱化階段，他說：“香港市民反抗的，恰恰是二十多年來，中共政府對香港的民主和自由所進行的、有計劃的系統干預和滲透。”

“反送中”運動至今，香港警方已拘捕了一千多名示威者，年齡介乎12至83歲。香港警察使用大量催淚瓦斯、橡皮子彈鎮壓抗議者的行徑也受到國際社會的廣泛關注與譴責。保護宗教與人權協會在當天呼籲，“港府成立獨立調查機構，對警察過度使用武力進行調查，追究行使暴力執法警察的責任，停止將抗議者標記為暴徒，還原事實真相，釋放所有的和平示威者。”同時，該協會代表也表示，希望國際社會能夠督促中國政府行使對香港承諾的自治權，支持香港人民的言論自由即和平集會自由。

The Mystery of the Coming of the Son of Man
Thank God for His guidance. Through our discussion yesterday, we realized that there are two ways in which the Lord’s return may occur. Some brothers and sisters have written to us, “We’ve always believed that the Lord Jesus will return upon a cloud, and have neglected the prophecies about His coming in secret. Now it turns out that the Lord will both descend openly upon a cloud and come in secret—what is this all about?” Thank God! Today we’ll discuss the prophecies concerning the Lord’s coming in secret.
In several different passages from the Bible, it is clearly prophesied that the Lord’s return is through incarnation as the Son of man. For instance, the Lord Jesus said, “Be you therefore ready also: for the Son of man comes at an hour when you think not” (Luke 12:40). “For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines to the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in His day. But first must He suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation” (Luke 17: 24–25). These prophecies speak of “the Son of man” or “the Son of man comes.” This phrase the Son of man refers to One who is born to a human and has normal humanity. So the Spirit can’t be called the Son of man. For instance, because Jehovah God is Spirit, He cannot be called the Son of man. The coming of the Son of man, or the appearance of the Son of man, suggests that when the Lord comes again in the last days, He will be born to a human and express the truth in the flesh to do His work of saving man. If the Lord returned as the resurrected spiritual body descending on the clouds and openly appearing before all men, everyone would see it and tremble and quake and would fall to the ground, and who then would still dare to resist or reject the Lord? In that case, wouldn’t the Lord Jesus’ words “first must He suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation” be pointless? Only by God incarnating as the Son of man to appear and work can He endure much suffering and be rejected of this generation. This is beyond all doubt.
Some brothers and sisters may ask, “If the Lord’s return is through incarnation, how will the prophecy of Him descending on a cloud be fulfilled?” Tomorrow we’ll explore the true meaning of the Lord descending openly!
