قرأ كثيرٌ من المؤمنين بالرب نبوءة الإنجيل التالية: "وَحِينَئِذٍ تَظْهَرُ عَلَامَةُ ٱبْنِ ٱلْإِنْسَانِ فِي ٱلسَّمَاءِ. وَحِينَئِذٍ تَنُوحُ جَمِيعُ قَبَائِلِ ٱلْأَرْضِ، وَيُبْصِرُونَ ٱبْنَ ٱلْإِنْسَانِ آتِيًا عَلَى سَحَابِ ٱلسَّمَاءِ بِقُوَّةٍ وَمَجْدٍ كَثِيرٍ" (متى 24: 30). انهم يؤمنون بأنه عندما يعود الرب، فإنه بالتأكيد سينزل على سحابة، إلا أن هنالك نبؤات أخرى في الإنجيل تقول: "هَا أَنَا آتِي كَلِصٍّ!" (رؤيا 16: 15). "فَفِي نِصْفِ ٱللَّيْلِ صَارَ صُرَاخٌ: هُوَذَا ٱلْعَرِيسُ مُقْبِلٌ، فَٱخْرُجْنَ لِلِقَائِهِ!" (متى 25: 6). إنه لجليّ أن هنالك نبوؤات تقول بأن الرب سيأتي في الخفاء؛ بالإضافة إلى النبوءة القائلة بأنه سينزل علانيةً على سحابة. فتُرى، ما هي حقيقة عودته؟

في عشرين وواحد وعشرين من نوفمبر تشرين الثاني ألفين وسبعة عشر، وفي يومين فقط، نُشر سبعة عشر تقريرًا مكثفا لمهاجمة كنيسة الله القدير، على "تا كونغ باو" و"وين وي بو"، الناطقتان الإعلاميتان بلسان الحزب الشيوعي الصيني في "هونغ كونغ"، وذكرت التقارير الشائعات والمغالطات التي يلفّقها الحزب الشيوعي الصيني باستمرار، لتكذيب كنيسة الله القدير وإدانتها. تستشهد التقارير بتُهم غير منطقية من بعض القساوسة، وتقول إنّ كنيسة الله القدير مسؤولة عن فقدان كنائسهم لأفرادها، بنيّة تحريض الناس والمجموعات الدينية على رفض كنيسة الله القدير وإدانتها. يُعلّق البروفيسور ماسيمو إنتروفينيي، عالم الاجتماع الإيطالي، ومؤسس مركز دراسات الأديان الجديدة، على الموضوع.
